COMEDIAN, ENTERTAINER AND VENTRILOQUIST TAYLOR MASON
On Wednesday June 27th, Taylor Mason visited us at Camp Curiosity.  He performed a show using all of his puppets. Afterward he held a Q and A for all of the students.  During the show he showed the students how puppets work and even invited students on stage to help perform his act.
ABOUT TAYLOR MASON...
Taylor Mason is Comedian, Entertainer and Ventriloquist whoes quick wit, funny jokes, clean comedy, flawless delivery & polished material make him a hit with audiences of all ages. He is a ventriloquist, entertainer, musician & stand-up comedian.

Nonetheless, he carved out a career in comedy and entertainment that has taken him around the world and into living rooms across the United States for the past 25 years. He’s appeared on a myriad of television programs, YouTube videos, and other online viral videos, he has won awards, he’s played Carnegie Hall, he’s written a book for Penguin Publishing (The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Ventriloquism), and once he did a show for children at his local public library! He has provided entertainment for Corporate Meetings, Performing Arts Centers, Casinos, Hotels, Banquets, Colleges, Festivals & Fairs, Concerts, Special Events and even headlined comedy clubs.

Having graduated from The University of Illinois with a degree in agriculture (fertile training ground for any comedian!), followed by a master’s degree from The Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University (in advertising – he could have written beer commercials!), Taylor Mason has never held a “real” job. His experience as a comedy writer and performer has taken him from The Second City Theater in Chicago to headlining gigs at every major comedy club across the country. He’s as comfortable writing and executing humor for corporate clients like Microsoft and Wal-Mart as he is doing a show for teens or children on a Disney Cruise ship. He’s performed for countless church functions. He’s done bar mitzvahs and synagogue shows. He continues to sell out comedy clubs and is requested at college campuses. Has he done a show on a rollercoaster yet? No, but for the right price he would!

It’s impossible to put Taylor Mason in a box. You cannot define his audience, because his act transcends demographics and niches. It’s a throwback and yet it’s contemporary. He’s inclusive, he’s genuinely interested in his audience and he’s 100% committed to every performance, every project, and every single job he takes.

Combining ventriloquism, music and comedy is unique to Taylor Mason and quite literally needs to be seen to be believed. Google “Taylor Mason” and view hundreds of videos, some home-made, some taken from countless television and DVD projects, that continue to add up, including “Thou Shalt Laugh V” (hosted by Chonda Pierce).

Does it sound old school? Only if music, laughter and the shared experience of sheer joy and excitement are out-of-date. For Taylor Mason these are calling cards as a comedian, and the pillars on which he has built an outstanding, consistent and truly American career as an entertainer and clean comedian.

Special Thank you to Stephen Brown from Looking Glass Photography for the wonderful pictures of the event.

The Snack Bar has snacks/drinks that campers are able to purchase from.  Parents are able to create an account by going to the office and putting money on a account card.  The cards are stored in the office/snack bar, this is a way that campers would not have to walk around with money in their pocket (less chance of losing it).

Process:
1. Purchase Snack Card at the office.
2. Student goes up to snack bar when grade is called. (Snack bar is only open at certain times)
3. Student chooses from a list of items that are available from the Snack bar... (Snacks range from Pop shots, Water ice, Ice-cream, pretzels, Hot fries etc.)
4. The price of the item is deducted from their snack account.

*You can limit your snack bar accounts (Ex. 1 snack per day)
**Snack bar accounts are able to be used for purchasing lunches as well.
***Any leftover money from snack account can either be put toward your tuition for fall or next year, or it can be reimbursed.
