The Curiosity Philosophy
We are committed to providing top quality preschool programs year-round in a stimulating and exciting environment situated on 55 beautiful rolling acres in Doylestown, Pennsylvania located in central Bucks County, PA. Our highly trained team of professionals are dedicated to giving your child the benefits of a fun and stimulating program.
By encouraging self-discovery, originality, and individualism, we avoid the competitive atmosphere and expect each participant to proceed at his/her own pace:
NURSERY PROGRAM
(Ages 2 ½ - 3 ½): This program offers the potty trained child an environment allowing development at their own pace. The focus is on socialization and verbal development. A hands-on learning environment is provided where children can learn from experience of using their senses.
ENRICHED NURSERY
(Ages 3 – 4 ½): This program utilizes a hands-on approach. It’s a strong emphasis on teaching cooperation with others as well as building more extensively upon the developmental (small motor) skills – Gluing, Coloring, Learning, Numbers, Letters, Pre-Reading skills, etc.
PRE-K and EDU-GYM
(Ages 4-5 years): Team and individualized learning techniques and a genuine appreciation and excitement about learning is cultivated in this program. This group concentrates their positive energy and creativity as they integrate into the dynamics of a classroom. School readiness (math and reading) round out this program.
KINDERGARTEN
(5 years old by Sept. 1st): The full day kindergarten at the Curiosity Shoppe offers a "hands on' approach to learning; balancing academic and physical activities. The curriculum stresses a strong phonetic approach to reading and "kid-writing." Math, Spanish, Social Studies, Nature and Science, Physical Education, Music, and Art complete the children's program.
ENRICHED KINDERGARTEN
(5 years old by Sept. 1st): A flexible afternoon program is offered for children who attend morning Kindergarten in the local school districts. Fun and different educational projects are offered including multi-cultural activities, geography, cooking, acting, music, and computers. (Transportation included.)

Circle Time and Other Activities

Socialization skills are worked on daily as your child learns to share with other children and to be gentle and to listen to others during group Circle Time activities.
During Circle Time, the calendar, daily weather and colors are introduced. Stories are read and told. The children have the opportunity to share any exciting news they wish to convey to the class.
Circle Time strives to encourage children to share thoughts, sing songs, and begin to work together as a group.
Coordination and creativity are encouraged as we dance and listen to music.
Children gain an appreciation of nature while playing outside in specially designed areas, and visiting and learning about the farm animals. All of the activities planned are designed with the ultimate goal of nurturing your child’s development.
