• Kara Smith offers over 20 years of experience in riding, training, and teaching. She has a well-rounded education in multiple disciplines including western pleasure, saddle seat, driving and dressage, with an emphasis on hunt-seat and jumping.  As a young rider, she began her showing career in 4-H with horses she trained, competing at the PA State 4-H horse shows becoming PA State Reserve Champion.  
  
  Kara received her B.S. in Large Animal Science at Penn State University where she was also an active member of the IHSA Penn State Equestrian Team.  She competed regularly for the team including many elite competitions including Nationals and Tournament of Champions.  She has shown successfully in A-rated horse shows across the East Cost winning many awards including East Coast Champion in Hunter Over Fences.  
  
  Students value her patience and passionate approach to teaching with focus on developing communication and partnership between horse and rider.  She is dedicated to helping every student reach their individual goals, from competing to pleasure riding.
