Our Farm Animals include horses, ponies, Nigerian dwarf goats, fainting goats, Suffolk sheep, various egg-laying chicken breeds, guinea hens, American Pekin and Mallard ducks, and rabbits. Each year, our school programs help take care of either baby chicks, ducklings, or bunnies. Once our babies have grown into full-sized hens, ducks, and rabbits, we transition them to become part of our farm. Our hens will even begin laying eggs of all different colors, like pink, brown & blue!
Our Farm Education Program provides our students and campers with opportunities to experience the farm we have right here on our campus. Children will do gardening projects, planting and harvesting, orchard apple picking, seasonal farm chores, farm animal care and education.
Our facility homes a variety of horses and ponies every shape and size to fit every rider.
Curiosity Stables at Camp Curiosity provides horseback riding lessons all year with our indoor riding ring. The goal of our lessons are to instill the responsibilities of equine care and management while nurturing the compassion and love for horses and riding. Riders will have a full understanding of the determination and perseverance it takes to achieve success in the challenges of riding and the importance of maintaining the utmost safety on and around the horse. Horsemanship skills, mounted horseback instruction, and unmounted teaching is all part of our lesson program. We have instructors that specialize in each English and Western riding styles. Walk, Trot, Canter, Jumping, Intro to Showing, Etiquette, Showmanship, and Maintenance of Horses are all important aspects learned and progressed as riders feel comfortable and ready to advance their riding level.
