Thank you to all at Camp Curiosity who wore Yellow and Green today in support of National Beckwith-Weidemann Syndrome Day! Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome is a condition that affects areas of the body in which body parts are develop to a larger than average size and is classified as overgrowth syndrome. Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome affects an estimated 1 in 14,000 newborns worldwide. Organizations such as the Beckwith-Wiedemann Children’s Foundation Int’l (BWCFI) has been educating and assisting families diagnosed with BWS since 1998 with the mission of providing support and education to families from the initial diagnosis and throughout a child’s life. We send our love and support to families in our school community, both past and present, who have young children with Beckwith-Weidemann Syndrome and will continue to share, advocate, and bring awareness for all children and families!
