Specials

Music

  • The classes will learn beats, patterns and notes using various types of rhythm sticks, cultural instruments from around the world, and their own voice.
  • When they reach Kindergarten, the groups will be working on Hand-bells in Winter, and the Recorder for the spring time.  
  • Each group puts on performances to show case to the parents what they works so hard to learn.

Spanish

  • Classes will participate in Spanish class 1 time per week.  Students will be introduced to Spanish Vocabulary, Cultures and Food.  Students will learn colors, shapes, weather, seasons and more...

Technology

  • Each Classroom has Listening Center, and we are currently in the process of putting together a computer lab.  
  • Kindergarten are able to use the iPad Library in the Kindergarten Class.
  • Teachers may use them for reading centers or for their interactive story books to read to the class.

Theater

  • In theater students will be learning about different types of dramatic medias.  Some activities/topics include: readers theater, skits, musicals, puppets, finger plays and more...

Creative Movement

  • In Creative Movement & Dance, student will learn how to move to rhythm learning basic dance steps and be able to use other modes to show movement, such as ribbons and scarves.

Phys-Ed

  • In P.E. students will be working on Gross Motor development to help them grow and be fit.  Classes will range from introductions to organized sports such as soccer, t ball, and mini golf to basic calisthenics such as jumping rope and skipping.  
  • The 4 sport courts and 3 sport fields including a mini golf course and baseball field help in providing students a structured environment for learning each activity. 

Science & Nature

  • In Science and Nature, students will be exposed to all types of sciences.  Students will classify organisms, build skeletons using x-rays. dig for dinosaurs, understand habitats, and create structures to understand weight displacement. 
  • This class uses hands on activities to help children understand the world around them and how it works. 

Sign Language

  • Sign Language is started in the infant program to help infants and toddlers communicate their needs to parents and teachers. 
  • As students grow, sign language helps us learn letters and words through being able to communicate through multiple ways.
