Cookies Help Our Students Learn How To Be Paleontologists
Today at Camp Curiosity, our older classes learned all about the processes that paleontologists use to uncover and reveal fascinating fossils all around the world. With chocolate chip cookies and tooth picks to represent the processes that these awesome scientists use, students had to carefully remove individual chocolate chips from the cookie just as paleontologists expose fossils in the field. Using their tooth picks to dust and pick away the cookie crumbles, each chocolate "fossil" was unearthed!
All of our programs have been discussing fossils this week in science class. From feeling the textures of various fossils and assembling puzzles just like paleontologists have to match up the bones they discover to create the full skeleton, to pressing their very own fossils using some play doh and fun dinosaur friends, the children enjoyed learning all about these beautiful treasures and all about being a paleontologist. Thank you Miss Wendy!
