Camp Curiosity is sharing some love during this season of giving. For the nationally celebrated Giving Tuesday on November 28, Camp Curiosity will be collecting school supplies to donate to an elementary school second grade class in need. Please consider donating packs of markers, glue sticks, pencils and crayons. By Tuesday, November 28 please bring in any donations to our main office. Thank you for joining together as a community to help give to a fellow school!
Did you know that a pumpkin is actually a berry?
Today in Farm Education, we talked all about pumpkins and gourds. After talking about their life cycle from seed to sprout to vine to flower to fruit, students creatively colored their own life cycle chart to show their families what they learned. We got the STEAM out by building some LEGO pumpkins and gourds. A sensory station with pumpkins and gourds of all shapes, sizes, colors, and textures allowed students to feel and compare. The inside of a pumpkin can get sticky, so students got to feel what's on the inside with sensory bags of pulp and seeds. We even got our hands a little messy with some pumpkin playdoh made with 3 simple ingredients: pumpkin puree, corn starch, and a little pumpkin spice. The classrooms smelled just like pumpkin pie! Students who were able to play with the pumpkin playdoh will take some home their very own in a labeled baggie. Thank you all for a great pumpkin lesson and Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
